About the Educational Consultant

Hi, I’m Susan Kong. I’m currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison researching children and adolescent media and positive media effects. I have worked for Seoul Foreign School as an IB (International Baccalaureate) Psychology educator and had a privilege of working with diverse students (from ages 2 to 22). I look forward to talking with you about your unique stories and any coaching needs you have this year!

I attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education and received an Ed.M. degree in Technology, Innovation, and Education. Then, I returned to Seoul Foreign School as a high school teacher, created academic curriculum, and delved into the International Baccalaureate Diploma program, teaching classes such as IB Psychology and Theory of Knowledge. I am very excited to work with students at QUESTABOX on healthy self-esteem, identity, social impact potentials, and cultural competence (e.g., cultural knowledge & skills related to Korean vs. American cultures, East vs. West, early immigrants' history, generational gaps, historical lenses, and the like). Learning to be aware of who I am, what matters to me, and what I am going to do will be incredibly important to your college and career preparation. Hope to see you soon!

Student Coaching

"My coaching will help students explore, research, and make projects on cultural and historical contexts (e.g., cultural identity, historical contexts, life skills, self-improvement, and/or ethical issues of our society) that would motivate students to be relatable to their college and career prep process.
